Tension is mounting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as students of the University of Ibadan (UI) on Thursday May 7, 2015 morning staged a protest over the alleged death of one of them
The students reportedly blocked the Mokola-Oojo Road in the Oyo State capital, making human and vehicular movement extremely difficult.
The protest has led to tension within and around the institution, especially the gate and its environs, while shop owners in Agbowo market have stayed off the area.
Although details of the death remained sketchy at press time, Daily Independent, however, gathered that the student reportedly had an asthmatic attack overnight, but was allegedly not attended to at the school’s clinic until he died.
