PHOTOS: 10 Popular Nigerians Spotted Doing The Unusual


It is true that so much is expected from Nigerian celebrities, politicians and other popular people. However, this article is intended to show that they are indeed humans, just like every other person on the street.


No matter how comported these famous Nigerians have proven to be, a good number of them will just not mind letting down their guards when they found themselves in public. These ‘good number’ of popular Nigerians are the ones who will take the opportunity of being outside in public to eat, to buy or to do what they will naturally not be found doing.

1. Aisha Buhari
First-Lady-to-be daring attitude got everyone’s attention when she was spotted helping a woman to fry akara (bean-cake) by the roadside in Abuja, about one month ago.

2. Rotimi Amaechi 

Current governor of Rivers state, Nigeria, since 2007. He was re-elected for a second term on April 26, 2011, but will be leaving his post by the end of May 2015. The governor took a step into the unusual during one of his campaign journey for the just-concluded election. The famous politician was pictured plaiting a woman’s hair during his unique style of Door 2 Door campaign in Bonny Island.

3. Rochas Okorocha

Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha is a Nigerian politician from Imo state, Nigeria, who won the May 6, 2011, gubernatorial election. He ran on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance platform. Now the only All Progressives Congress’s governor in South East seeks re-election.

Okorocha was spotted on different occasions: trying to act a roasted corn seller and another, he was seen feeding a baby. 

4. Iyiola Omisore
Deputy governor of Osun state from 1999–2003, and represented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a member of the Nigerian Senate for Osun East from 2003–2009, when his election was annulled by an electoral appeal tribunal.

Omisore was spotted on different occasions trying to eat two roasted corns at the same time. The second time was when he tried eating a popcorn while the third memorable moment was when he had been spotted on a bike.


5. Babatunde Fashola

13th governor of Lagos state, was caught eagerly awaiting his roasted plantain (Boli) during a political rally.

6. Ayodele Fayose

Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose, was recently pictured eating at a Buka in Ajilosun in Ado-Ekiti, the state’s capital. No wonder they refer to him as the governor who is always at home with his people.

7. Dolapo Osinbajo
Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of the vice president-elect, proves she has an undying love for Suya, as she was seen at a Suya joint with Aisha Buhari.

8.Actress Empress Njamah

Nollywood actress and boutique owner Empress Njamah was spotted at a roadside vendors place, where she went to buy roasted yam, which, she says, is one of her favourites.


9. Cynthia Morgan

This singer and dance hall queen defied all odds when she stopped to buy some cherry along the road.

10. Adams Oshiomhole
Adams Oshiomhole, the governor of Edo state, also in a way has proven that plantain is the in-thing, as he stopped to buy plantain chips while passing by.
