I’ve lost almost N450m to Alaba pirates – Igwe Gabosky


With the strangle-hold of piracy on Nigerian entertainment scene, veteran Nollywood movies distributor, Igwe Gabosky has revealed that he has been deprived a whopping N450m by pirates feasting on movies.


Speaking with journalists at a press parley on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Regent Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Gabosky said he has been fighting endlessly to combat the crippling effects of piracy in Nigeria.

‘I have lost almost N450m to piracy as of today and all the threats I have received about piracy are from Igbo boys in Alaba,’ he said.

Speaking further, Gabosky said Kunle Afoloyan’s award winning movie, October 1 is facing pirates’ threat and maybe released into the market this week.

‘They also have October 1 and they want to release it this week which will cause a lot of damages.’
