I am stepping down at the end of the season - Jurgen Klopp

The 47-year-old German, who took the Bundesliga side to the final of the champions league in the 2012/13 season requested that he be released from his contract, which had been due to run until 2018.

Klopp insisted that he's not found another job and obviously not planning to take a year rest, but just felt it would be good to step down.

The German side has won two Bundesliga title since the arrival of the 47 year old coach, and he also has the German Super Cup to his credit.

"It's not that I'm tired, I've not had contact with another club but don't plan to take a sabbatical," he said.

I always said in that moment where I believe I am not the perfect coach anymore for this extraordinary club I will say so.

"I really think the decision is the right one. This club deserves to be coached from the 100% right manager."
